PaperPath Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect
- Account information, including email, display name, login state, registration time, referral code, and account settings.
- Workspace content, including projects, research questions, uploaded files, source metadata, prompts, AI outputs, notes, drafts, citations, and revision history.
- Billing information, including membership orders, credit purchases, payment state, reward balance, refunds, and support records.
- Security and usage information, including IP address, browser, device signals, logs, rate-limit events, and error reports.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide authentication, academic writing workflows, source management, AI generation, revision, citation support, export, billing, and customer support.
- To send necessary context to AI model providers, literature search providers, storage providers, email providers, and payment providers when required to complete user-requested actions.
- To improve service reliability, prevent abuse, debug issues, measure usage, and maintain account security.
3. Academic Content
- Users are responsible for ensuring they have the right to upload and process papers, PDFs, personal data, and third-party content.
- PaperPath does not claim ownership of user-uploaded academic work. We process it only to provide the requested service and maintain the account.
- Users should avoid uploading confidential, restricted, or sensitive academic data unless they are allowed to do so.
4. Retention And Security
- We use reasonable technical and organizational measures such as access controls, logging, backups, and operational safeguards.
- No internet service can guarantee absolute security. If a security incident occurs, we will respond according to applicable requirements.
- Deleted content may remain in backups, audit records, or dispute-resolution records for a limited period where required.
5. User Rights
- Users may request access, correction, deletion, export, or account closure where supported by law and product functionality.
- Users may delete projects or uploaded files from the product interface where available.
- For privacy requests, contact the operator through the support channel published in the product.
Before production launch, add the legal operator name, business address, support email, data protection contact, and third-party processor list.
